About Nerv
Nerv is a global paramilitary and research organisation founded in 2019 under the auspices of the Global Recovery Commission with the intent of defending human civilisation from interstellar threats, such as asteroids, radiation and hostile extraterrestrial lifeforms. You may know about us from our integral role in fending off the 'Angels', which are currently attacking Japan. These are lifeforms of unknown origin and fearsome capabilities, and every means has been taken by Nerv-01 of Tokyo-3 to neutralise, capture and study these beings, so that what is today a scourge of humankind can, in tamer form, lead us towards a brighter future.
Nerv's UK branch, officially designated Nerv-04B, is located at Woolhampton Airfield, near Newbury, Berkshire. This facility is home to a powerful arsenal of equipment, and has been expressly designed and redesigned from its former state as an RAF airfield to be suitable for its current purpose.
'Evangelion' Armoured Robots
Nerv's most powerful weapons are the Evangelions, giant humanoid combat robots designed to comprehensively outclass all previous military technology. They have been deployed successfully against the Angels.
Magi Computer System
The Magi are an advanced supercomputer system used by Nerv for all high-level computing needs. They were designed by the late Naoko Akagi and are by some margin the most powerful computers in the world. Their capabilities include long-range coordination and in-depth AI decision-making.
About Wille
Nerv's foremost partner in its endeavours is Wille, the GRC's ground-level paramilitary wing, responsible for supporting and defending UN-sponsored worldwide recovery and prosperity efforts from terrorists, rebels and other hostile actors. Wille is critical in the UN's global peacekeeping infrastructure, and has aided in groundbreaking conflict resolution efforts, such as the Israel-Palestine peace treaty of 2013. Wille helps Nerv by defending from earthly threats, just as we defend from metaphysical ones. For more on Wille, visit their website, linked in the sidebar.
About the Author
Unsurprisingly, the above information is fictional. Nerv, along with other organisations mentioned, derives from 1995's Neon Genesis Evangelion, Hideaki Anno's masterwork, for which this is my fan site. I'm oneafter909, formerly GeekyBoringFilms, and I will probably add more personal things to this page as I work on it.
